Scarborough Town Centre’s Celebratory Events For Lunar New Year

Starting Friday, February 1 in Centre Court, guests will find a dragon installation, towering 15-feet high and spanning 22-feet long that will act as a vibrant centrepiece throughout the entire month.

On Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4, there will be numerous celebratory performances to engage the community including a showcase of LNY celebrations from the past to the present, a variety of dances and distribution of Lai See (red pockets) among spectators and guests.

STC’s first-ever Lunar New Year MRKT features an array of Asian artisans and will run from
Friday, February 2, to Sunday, February 4, during regular shopping centre hours in Centre Court.

Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4, starting at 2 pm ET, STC’s Centre Court will come alive with a series of captivating live performances celebrating the Year of the Dragon.

Location: Bayview Village Shopping Centre, Centre Court and East Lobby

Highlights of the Lunar New Year Event include:

Experience the mesmerizing Dragon and Lion dance performances twice during the event, adding a touch of traditional charm to the festivities. Performances will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Schedule is subject to change)
The God of Fortune will make a special visit during the performances. Those who meet the God of Fortune will be rewarded with special BV Red Envelopes containing as small gift. (limited to one per guest)
Capture joyous moments at the Lunar New Year Photobooth celebrating the Year of the Dragon, where you can also enter the event giveaway. The Giveaway will include a grand prize of a $888 gift card courtesy of Bayview Village. Contest will run from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11.
Enjoy a captivating performance by Goh Ballet, adding an exquisite touch to the celebration, taking place at 3:00 p.m. (Schedule is subject to change)
