2021 Bvlgari Magnifica High Jewelry Collection

by Iris

The vibrant inspiration of Rome returns to lift the hearts of the world. Shining into Italy’s fashion capital like a blinding ray of sunshine, Bvlgari presents its most exquisite High Jewelry collection to date. More than the launch of unparalleled works of jewelry craft, this is a resplendent celebration of rebirth.

Magnifica pays homage to the Roman jeweler’s expertise by celebrating three of Bvlgari’s iconic design pillars: gems, creativity and craftsmanship. Creative Director, Lucia Silvestri unearthed rare, exclusive precious gems from around the globe and conceptualized designs inspired by both Rome, the eternal city, and a selection of fearless female muses. Over 100,00 hours of master artistry culminated in the over 120 piece collection, featuring versatile, transformative, one of a kind works of art.

Mediterranean Queen

Inspired by an archival necklace dating back to 1969, the Mediterranean Queen, is an expression of the Roman jeweler’s daring, unapologetic attitude and required over 2,400 hours to be completed,. Five marvelous oval cushion-cut Paraiba tourmalines, weighing approx. 500 carats, are connected by graceful, curved waves of cabochon emeralds and diamonds. The extraordinary Paraiba tourmalines, which are amongst the rarest gems in the world, glow with an aqua hue reminiscent of the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean sea surrounding Italy’s Sardinia island.

Baroque Spiral necklace

Seventeenth-century painter, Artemisia Gentileschi, is one of the most celebrated artist of the Baroque movement. With her dramatic and dynamic paintings, defined by the chiaroscuro technique, she challenged the social norms of the period, putting a new focus on the central role of women in society. The Baroque Spiral necklace reflects her rebellious, indomitable spirit, using the spiral as a symbol of life and evolution. Masterfully set one by one, cabochon rubies, emeralds sapphires alongside sparkling diamonds, shine bright in this intricate 3D creation, a contemporary interpretation of Bvlgari’s signature style of the Sixties.

Prodigious Color necklace

A true trailblazer in her field, Artemisia Gentileschi was one of the first women to forge a successful career as a painter and one of the few to be mentioned in art history books. Her bold and powerful use of color is perfectly in tune with Bvlgari’s passion for vibrant gems. The ingeniously crafted piece allows amethyst, citrine, rubellite, blue topaz, pink quartz to each take center stage in their own wondrous way, amplified by sinuously interwoven rose gold, dazzling diamonds and green tourmaline inserts. Conjuring up the passionate paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi, the necklace balances volume and voluptuousness, light and color.
