The ‘Coffee’ Coffee Table

by Iris

In celebration of Global Coffee Day, Nescafé has partnered with Canadian designer Jesson Moento construct a one-of-a-kind Coffee Coffee Table, crafted from 30 lbs. of Nescafé Rich Coffee grounds, to exemplify sustainable production. The idea or its construction of this table was inspired by the method Nescafé uses to power its factories, through ultra-clean steam created from converting energy from waste coffee grounds, supporting Nescafé ’s Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 target.

Coffee tables are a place to come together to catch up, discuss thoughts, ideas and to breathe in relaxation while enjoying a comforting cup of coffee. With this in mind, Nescafé set out to find a Canadian designer to exemplify sustainable production, using Nescafé coffee as a key ingredient.

“The creation of the Coffee Coffee Table was a unique project that to me had special meaning, because it uses the waste produced by one of the world’s most popular beverages and turns it into a long-lasting conversation piece,” says Jesson Moen, Co-owner of Crux Design + Build. “This table is inspired by the Nescafé Cup of Respect platform to demonstrate that sustainable living is truly within our grasp.”
