Inside Dior’s Enchanting Cannes Suite at the Majestic Hotel

by Iris

Perched on the sixth floor of the legendary Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes, the Dior Suite returns as one of the most coveted destinations during the 79th Cannes International Film Festival — an intimate retreat where cinema, couture, and Riviera glamour converge.

For a moment away from the flash of cameras and the excitement of the Croisette, Dior welcomes an extraordinary circle of international guests and House ambassadors into its prestigious seaside haven. In recent years, iconic figures including Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattinson have gathered within this celebrated space, making it a signature Cannes rendez-vous for the House.

This year, the Dior Suite is reimagined in luminous shades of white and sky blue — a serene prelude to the breathtaking Riviera panorama beyond its windows. Inspired by the elegance of Mediterranean beach resorts, the décor unfolds through softly striped motifs rendered with a hand-drawn sensibility, evoking the effortless sophistication of summer on the Côte d’Azur.

At the heart of the design is the iconic Dior Masquerade couture motif: a poetic gallery of characters dressed for a masked ball. Inspired by the whimsical illustrations created by Christian Bérard for Monsieur Dior — who famously adored the enchantment of costume parties — the motif offers a refined homage to the artistry of cinematic costume design and the enduring dialogue between fashion and film.
