Canadian Chinese Top Model Ash Foo

by Iris

Canadian Ash Foo is one of the world’s top models.  The Toronto native of Chinese descent is in high demand internationally, and despite the global pandemic and surviving ovarian cancer, her career has skyrocketed.

Ash Foo was chosen for Vogue Magazine’s “100 Covers, 100 People, 100 Stories” issue, where she was featured on her own cover among other influential icons. All this success comes on the heels of a diagnosis of, and recovery from ovarian cancer.

She is presently appearing in campaigns for acclaimed designers Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford and Carolina Ferrera, for makeup companies Estee Lauder and MAC Cosmetics, and walks the runways for such top designers as Jason Wu, Michael Kors and Kenzo among many others.

“It is about time that the world of fashion is catching up to diversity, and Ash could not be a better ambassador for these ground breaking times”, says her agent Brandon Hall at Sutherland Models. Asian models have achieved mercurial heights in the world of high fashion this decade, and Hall says there is no end in sight.

But finding Asian models is not an easy task. Brandon Hall says despite the agency being in a diverse city like Toronto with nearly 700,000 Asians, there are not many applying to the agency.  “We are always on the lookout for that next Asian star!” says Hall.
