Fall for Dance North

The 7th edition of Fall for Dance North (FFDN) – Toronto’s premier international dance festival – which boasts the largest line-up in the festival’s history, with weeks of programming until Oct. 29, showcasing a hybrid mix of electrifying in-person performances and original digital content for its local and global audience, including the world premiere of 10 festival commissions.

 

 

Côté Danse (Sept. 23, Harbourfront Centre Theatre)

This new full-length work by Guillaume Côté connects to the myth of Odysseus, about journeying far but always desiring to return home. The piece explores the notion of the “inner compass” and the idea that “home” may be a state of mind.

 

Double Bill: Sara Porter / Danah Rosales and House of Siriano (Oct. 7, Pre-recorded & live-to-air premiere, The Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance)

This double bill features Toronto-based artists Sara Porter and Danah Rosales in a juxtaposition of works that finds shared ground in theatricality, spectacle and Queer identity.

 

My Mother’s Son (Oct. 13, A three-part global performance film event)

Travel to Havana-Cuba, London-UK, and Bangalore-India through the cinematic lens of the award-winning director Vikram Dasgupta. Find global connections through the powerful movements of renowned choreographers dancing a world apart, together.

 

More Forever (Oct. 20, Live-to-air premiere from The Fleck Dance Theatre)

A stunning evening-length work that blurs the lines between movement and music, choreographed by Caleb Teicher, set to an eclectic score composed and performed by contemporary pianist Conrad Tao. Co-presented with Harbourfront Centre.
