Designer Justin Louis, from the Samson Cree Nation, shared a first look of a selection of pieces from his namesake luxury label, Justin Jacob Louis, during his inaugural runway show at New York Fashion Week on September 10, 2023. Louis’ Fall 2024 collection consists of wool coats, knitwear and leather goods, with most pieces manufactured in North America. This gender inclusive label stays true to Indigenous practices of environmental responsibility and injects elements of the designer’s Nehiyaw (Plains Cree) culture, language and homelands onto a blank canvas.
