For Summer 2027, Burberry returns to something more instinctive, tactile and human. Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee describes the collection as “a return to the basis of things” – a wardrobe shaped by feeling, individuality and the beauty of imperfection. At the heart of the collection is the work of British textile artist Celia Birtwell, whose distinctive prints defined the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s. Her joyful drawings reinterpret Burberry’s familiar codes, transforming the House Check into gingham and stripes, while expressive florals and faces bring a playful, handmade quality to the collection.
Washed silk and cotton lend womenswear an easy, lived-in feel, while relaxed, shorter menswear silhouettes bring a youthful attitude. Equestrian references appear in the Derby with hand-finished florals, while the Sloane bag is given a tactile update through woven leather. Across the collection, clean lines and lightweight fabrics create space for intricate embroidery and trompe l’œil trench details, including belts and epaulettes.

A neutral palette allows Birtwell’s vivid prints to stand out, while an individualistic casting celebrates personality rather than uniformity. Presented at Chelsea College of Arts in London, the collection’s understated setting – complemented by wooden seating and a soundtrack spanning four decades of David Bowie – reinforces Burberry’s vision of clothing that feels lived in, personal and effortlessly real.
