Monos is taking its minimalist approach to travel onto the open road with a one-of-one 1998 Mercedes-Benz Heritage G-Class, created in collaboration with Vancouver-based automotive restoration studio Pre-Merger. The custom vehicle will be the centrepiece of a giveaway, launching alongside the limited-edition Aluminum Rodeo Check collection, which brings the G-Class’s distinctive Rodeo Plaid interior to Monos’ signature aluminum luggage. Together, the Heritage G-Class and matching luggage collection bring Monos’ philosophy of thoughtful design and mindful travel to life, offering a distinctive expression of how we move through the world.
Originally imported from Tokyo, the Mercedes-Benz G320 has been carefully restored to preserve the unmistakable character, utility and rugged personality of the iconic G-Class, while introducing modern refinements for greater comfort, reliability and everyday use.
The restoration pairs the vehicle’s utilitarian roots with contemporary details, including a five-speed automatic transmission and air conditioning. Inside, the cabin has been fully reupholstered in leather and finished with custom-woven Rodeo Plaid seat inserts, while the exterior takes on a striking Amaranto paint finish inspired by Alfa Romeo. The result is a classic off-roader with a refined new identity, ready for both everyday adventures and the open road.
The spirit of the Heritage G-Class also extends to Monos’ limited-edition Aluminum Rodeo Check collection. Inspired by the vehicle’s distinctive Rodeo Plaid interior, the pattern is reimagined across Monos’ signature lightweight and durable anodized aluminum shells. Debossed detailing and tonal black accents add a rugged yet sophisticated character, bringing together the utility of the G-Class with Monos’ clean, minimalist aesthetic.
The collection includes the Carry-On at $935, Carry-On Plus at $955, Check-In Medium at $1,025, Check-In Large at $1,065 and Trunk Large at $1,095.
At the heart of the collaboration is the opportunity to win the one-of-one Heritage G-Class through a no-purchase-necessary sweepstakes. Running from October 7 through November 26, 2026, the prize package is valued at more than $140,000 and includes the custom Heritage G-Class, a trip for two with a two-night stay in Vancouver, and a set of Aluminum Rodeo Check luggage.
