Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award – Canadian Edition: Where Imagination Meets Legacy

by Iris

The Pierre Cardin House presents the Canadian debut of the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award, a landmark moment in its global quest to discover the next generation of visionary fashion talent. Canada’s emerging designers are invited to join this inspiring journey — where imagination meets legacy and creativity takes center stage.

After eleven successful editions around the world, this prestigious international competition arrives in Canada for the first time, inviting final-year students from fashion and design schools across the country, aged eighteen and above, to showcase their creativity, innovation, and bold perspectives. The initiative reflects Pierre Cardin’s enduring commitment to nurturing young designers and celebrating cultural diversity through fashion.

Following a preliminary selection process, a creative workshop and award ceremony will take place on November 12, 2025, at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montréal. A jury of esteemed designers from the House, including President and Artistic Director Rodrigo Basilicati Cardin, will select one finalist to join the Pierre Cardin studio in Paris for a three-month residency in 2026. The winner will receive a round-trip flight between Canada and Paris, housing, a monthly stipend of €1,000, and the invaluable opportunity to work alongside the brand’s creative team in Paris.

Students are invited to submit up to three original sketches in menswear, womenswear, or childrenswear — or one of each — reinterpreting Pierre Cardin’s iconic geometric forms and futuristic vision. Submissions will be evaluated on creativity, technical skill, sustainability, and alignment with the brand’s design codes.

Applications are open until October 31, 2025, and must include a completed registration form, sketches, a current enrollment certificate, a portfolio, and a photo. Submissions should be sent via email to contest@pierrecardin.com.
