At the recently concluded New York Fashion Week, COS unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection with “contrast” and “craftsmanship” at its core. Through a stage of pure white space, shifting light, and refined detailing, the brand explored the quiet strength of minimalism.

The show was staged at the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse along Brooklyn’s waterfront, a raw industrial setting transformed into an architectural stage of modernist purity. As models walked the runway, suspended light boxes shifted from a warm glow to a crisp white brightness, casting 47 looks in a play of shadow and illumination that revealed a sense of calm yet determined strength.

The new collection centred on a palette of black, deep grey, and navy, balanced with neutral tones. Pony-effect textures, supple leather, and shearling offset matte and glossy finishes, creating striking visual depth. Sheer fabrics offered fleeting glimpses of the body in motion, while heritage-inspired checks appeared across ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear, forming cohesive, head-to-toe statements.

For womenswear, COS drew inspiration from the 1950s “New Look,” reinterpreting cocooning volumes with oversized scarves, high-neck silhouettes, and sculptural draping. Cinched waists and open necklines created a balance of strength and elegance, with a softly sculpted silk dress emerging as a highlight—a modern declaration of refined femininity.

Menswear balanced functionality with inventive tailoring. Oversized proportions and sharp shoulders refreshed classic suiting, while details such as buttoned epaulettes, practical pockets, and coordinated trousers added a contemporary ease. Rich textures, including basketweave knits and chenille, introduced warmth and tactility, grounded by timeless leather boots and minimalist trainers.

The evening also drew a glittering guest list, including supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, singer Lauryn Hill, actors Naomi Watts and Jodie Turner-Smith, as well as rising stars Sampha, Christopher Briney, and Selah Marley—adding to the night’s allure.
