Day and night, simplicity and iridescence. The CHANEL Fall/Winter 2026 collection unfolds as an ongoing dialogue between Gabrielle Chanel and Matthieu Blazy. Moving through time, the collection layers silhouettes in shifting strata—lithe yet structured, relaxed yet precise. From the twenties to the thirties, the fifties to the sixties, and back again to the twenties where we stand today, each era subtly informs the next. At the centre of these temporal shifts lies the archetype of the Chanel suit.
The suit becomes a canvas, ready to reflect the individuality of the one who wears it. Boldly reimagined, it spans ribbed knits, classic tweeds, and intricate fabrics woven with artificial fibres, lurex, and silicone alongside natural gauze. Signature pieces evolve within this new language of tailoring: the bouclé-tweed “work shirt” and the masculine pressed-tweed blouson now stand as essential elements of the modern suit. Fluidity, lightness, and ease emerge through twenties-inspired silk jersey interwoven with tweed, while innovative techniques appear in beaded and knitted suits that offer remarkable lightness and freedom of movement.
A growing sense of iridescence—silken, sinuous, and fluid—intensifies as day gives way to the nocturnal world of flight. Here, the papillon de nuit appears. Streamlined coats and dresses in sylph-like silhouettes lead the way: cut to cascade, at times stark, at others ornamented, yet always animated by an inner dynamism. Designed for movement, they carry the wearer effortlessly into the night.
