Engineered Garment’s renowned founder Daiki Suzuki’s lifelong passion for localized manufacturing traditions — crafts and techniques that have been passed down for generations — naturally drew him to the British shoemaker Dr. Martens. “It’s the people who work at and wear Dr. Martens that really made me want to rework the classic shoe,” he said in a statement. This fifth partnership between the two brands subtly nods back to the first pair of 1461’s Daiki Suzuki purchased in the 90s that ended up in his legendary clothing archive.
