A New Contemporary Japanese Hot Spot – Minami Toronto

by Iris

Aburi Restaurants Canada, the group behind Miku on the waterfront, Aburi Hana in Yorkville and TORA uptown, is adding Minami Toronto to the vibrant King Street dining scene (at 225 King St West near Roy Thomson Hall) as they continue their successful expansion from west to east.

Minami Toronto will offer one of the most unique and innovative dining experiences in the highly competitive culinary district in downtown Toronto. By taking core concepts from sister restaurant Minami Yaletown in Vancouver, and infusing inspiration from Toronto’s local culture, the restaurant will showcase memorable and unique culinary and cocktail offerings.

In compliance with the recent announcement to extend the prohibition on indoor dining in Toronto, Minami Toronto is offering a robust takeout and delivery menu available on Uber Eats, Ritual and Tock.

Helmed by chef Jason Do who has honed his craft across the various banners under Aburi Restaurants Canada, the menu at Minami Toronto embraces seasonal and regional ingredients, as well as Ocean Wise seafood options. Techniques and flavours combining Japanese tradition and modern global concepts, are reflected in dishes that span from land to sea.

Although it is an uncertain time for many restaurants and businesses in the current climate, Founder and CEO of Aburi Restaurants Canada, Seigo Nakamura believes it is important for his team to work harder now than ever before to make it to the other side of the pandemic.

“The wheels were already in motion for Minami to open before the pandemic. Even though we are faced with these challenges, it is crucial that we move forward and do our best – our team depends on it. We are always ready to innovate and not just overcome obstacles – but come out stronger and succeed together,” says Nakamura.
