Alpine Eagle Summit In Radiant Gemstone Gradient

by Iris

The Alpine Eagle collection welcomes a new series of 41 mm-diameter models adorned with dials in luminous shades and bezels set with a gemstone gradient.  True to the Manufacture’s commitment to sustainable luxury, these watches are crafted in ethical 18-carat yellow, white or rose gold. All beat to the rhythm of the Chopard 01.15-C movement, whose precision settings are authenticated by chronometer certification. From gold smelting to bracelet manufacturing, along with gemsetting, component production and movement assembly, every stage in the making of the collection is performed by Chopard’s artisans.

This series of Alpine Eagle Summit timepieces comes in four combinations of ethical gold and gems set in a subtle colour gradient: yellow gold and pink sapphires, white gold with blue and purple sapphires, white gold and tsavorites, as well as rose gold and spessartites. Echoing the sparkle of the bezel setting, each of these models features the emblematic eagle-eye radiating-patterned dial in the luminous hues that define the collection’s identity.

From the moment the first model was presented, the collection was praised for the aesthetics of its textured dials, inspired by the palette of natural colours composing the beauty of the Alpine landscape. The Alpine Eagle Summit model in yellow gold features a “Golden Peak” colour bearing the name of the rocky summit in the Swiss part of the Mont Blanc massif. The peak itself was thus christened by 19th century scientist James David Forbes in reference to the golden shimmer of the rock. The two white gold watches are respectively adorned with a “Zinal Blue” dial, whose blue and purple reflections reproduce those of the eponymous glacier standing proudly in the heart of the Swiss Alps; and “Vals Grey”, recalling the silvery reflections of the quartzite stone found in the canton of Graubünden, and used to build the walls and roofs of traditional houses in the region of the village of Vals. Finally, the last timepiece in this series, crafted in rose gold, features a “Pink Dawn” dial, reminiscent of the sun’s early light as it rises over the mountains in the morning.

All around these glowing dials, a setting of baguette-cut gemstones patiently matched to form a subtle colour gradient lights up the watch bezel and echoes the dial colour. It serves as a vivid reminder that, alongside its mastery of watchmaking skills, Chopard also benefits from a renowned heritage in the art of gemsetting and stone selection.

The bezel of the model with the “Golden Peak” dial is adorned with pink sapphires between the eight screws set at a tangent and giving the collection its distinctive look. “Zinal Blue” brings a play on colours with the nuanced shades of blue and purple sapphires; while “Vals Grey” blends with a range of tsavorites in soft, revitalising shades of green. Finally, the artisans of the Manufacture have opted for spessartites, chosen for their orange tones, to enhance the brilliance of the “Pink Dawn” dial.

This understated yet dazzling range of colours whisks observers away into a world of natural splendour. Whether worn by a mountain explorer or a nature lover, Alpine Eagle Summit is a tribute to the grandeur of our environment that Chopard remains determined to protect.

True to the Manufacture’s commitment to certified precision, the Chopard 01.15-C self-winding movement, beating at the heart of the Alpine Eagle Summit watches and visible through a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, is developed in Chopard watchmaking workshops and certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The word “Chronometer” embossed on the dial is a reminder of this label of precision and excellence.

When fully wound, the mechanism provides 60 hours of power reserve. Consistently targeting the highest standards of precision, watchmakers have also equipped this movement with a stop-seconds function enabling the wearer to set the time to the exact second.
