CHANEL Cruise 2026/27: The Spirit of Biarritz

by Iris

In Biarritz, far from the Paris salon, Gabrielle Chanel reimagined fashion through freedom, movement, and the elements. It was here she introduced jersey and sportswear—liberating the body and reshaping modern dress. For his first Cruise collection at CHANEL, Matthieu Blazy revisits this spirit, where function meets fantasy. The little black dress continues its reinvention, while the double C—both signature and manifesto—threads through silhouettes in constant motion.

From fluttering silk foulard ensembles and rustling raffia skirts to washed cotton canvas suiting, workwear, beachwear, and couture merge into a fluid wardrobe. The salon slips into the beach.

Textures echo the coast: fluid silks, soft tweeds, raffia, and shimmering, scale-like finishes. Swimwear anchors the collection, while accessories extend a sense of journey—from compact travel bags to oversized beach paniers—paired with footwear that moves from polished to barefoot ease. Shells and pearls bring a touch of the sea.

As Chanel said, “There is no beauty without freedom of the body.”
