This exclusive design reaffirms FENDI ‘s dedication to creative circularity, a key pillar of LIFE 360 program (LVMH Initiatives for the environment), which sets goals to elevate environmental performance.
Honoring FENDI’s heritage and craftsmanship while embracing an innovative, circular production, the iconic Baguette bag is once again a symbol of boundless versatility and creative potential. Starting from offcuts, the precious and naturally soft-grained Cuoio Romano leather, a FENDI signature since1925, is reinvented to create a patchwork-like interpretation of the Baguette bag. Showcasing the Maison’s mastery of materials, each piece is painstakingly handmade by the artisans of the FENDI Factory for leathergoods in Capannuccia, Tuscany.
Stock leathers of previous collections are precisely cut into squares that are coupled and backed with an inner support, and subsequently perforated. Following a precise scheme of 11 different colours, the squares are then placed on a paper pattern and are hand-knotted together with Cuoio Romano laces. Adding to the uniqueness of the bag, the shoulder strap is realized using the same technique and the signature FF buckle is crafted in matching Cuoio Romano leather.
Proposed in two leather versions, the diverse tones of Cuoio Romano are mixed and matched to create distinctive palettes that follow the colours of the collection: earthy, natural hues are accented by azure and magenta or the iconic FENDI yellow. Sublimating the utmost savoir-faire that defines FENDI, two bicolour croco variations add to the offer in white and terracotta or blue, grey and burgundy nuances.
