If you’ve tuned into A1 Chinese Radio recently, chances are you’ve heard the name Starlane Home. Over the past few months, I’ve hosted several on-air broadcasts featuring two of their signature developments—Bayview Trail in Aurora and Camden Crossing in Richmond Hill. Both are in neighbourhoods where Chinese-Canadian families are actively looking to settle, offering homes in the $1–3 million range that combine thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and prime location.

Markham Meadows
From the model homes to the sales centres, I was struck by the practical layouts, attention to detail, and smart site selection. So, I reached out to Gabriel Baldassarra, Starlane’s President, to learn more.
Gabriel Baldassarra, Starlane’s President
First surprise? Gabe’s youthful energy and immense passion—he is a lot more personable than what you’d expect from someone leading a company that has built over 12,000 homes across the GTA.
Second? He started “on the ground,” working as a site supervisor more than a decade ago. One of his first projects was Upper Unionville in Markham, now a mature, sought-after neighbourhood of 400+ homes.
“I miss being on-site,” he admitted. “It taught me everything—how a home is really built, and how to spot quality you can stand behind. You can’t cheat me on craftsmanship.”
A Family Business Built to Last

Starlane Home Corporation is located in Vaughan
Founded in 1992, Starlane Home has grown from a family-run builder into one of the most recognized names in new home development in Ontario. From townhomes for first-time buyers to large detached homes in premium neighbourhoods, their portfolio reflects both scale and diversity.
But what makes a Starlane home stand out?
Gabe explains it through what the company calls their “5-Star Pillars”—a set of guiding principles rather than a checklist.
The first is Quality/Design. “It’s not just materials,” said Gabe. “It’s how the layout flows, how people actually live in the space.”
Next is Reputation/Experience. “When I visit communities we built years ago, like Upper Unionville, I see how they’ve matured. That means we made the right choices early on.”
Location is another key. Starlane started in Brampton and Vaughan, and is now active in Aurora, Richmond Hill, Markham and Stouffville. “We build where people want to live—and where communities are poised to grow.”
Customer Service includes personalized design support and one-year post-move-in care. “Our 8,000 sq ft design centre and experienced team help homeowners make their dream home a reality,” Gabe said.
Lastly, the Value Proposition. For Starlane, that means versatility. “Families today are dynamic,” Gabe says. “Some are young couples, others have multi-generational households. Our homes are built to evolve—whether that means adding a home office, optimizing storage, or creating quiet corners for everyone.”
What Buyers Want in 2025

The 8,000 sq. ft. design centre inspires high levels of decorating excellence.
As we talked about the evolving expectations of today’s buyers, Gabe listed six essentials: “Outdoor space, nearby amenities, a convenient neighbourhood, comfort, storage, and enough breathing room for everyone.”
In other words, homes must offer more than just square footage—they need to support the rhythms of modern life. “People don’t just want a beautiful home. They want to feel they can grow in it, work in it, rest in it. That’s what we aim to deliver.”
Looking Ahead
While Bayview Trail and Camden Crossing continue to generate buzz, Starlane is already planning its next chapter. Ivy Rouge in Oakville has recently opened, while Unity in Markham, and Blue Sky in Stouffville are coming soon—these three new communities are designed with the same commitment to quality, value, and livability.
“We don’t just build homes,” said Gabe. “We build five-star communities—with pride, and with care.”
I look forward to visiting these new communities and seeing how Starlane continues to deliver—building not just homes, but lasting neighbourhoods for the way we live now.
