Stone Eagle Winery: Where Sipping Becomes an Experience

by Iris

Newly opened in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Stone Eagle Winery introduces a refined destination where expressive wines, inspired cuisine, and elevated hospitality come together in a seamless, immersive experience. Founded by sisters Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli—the visionary team behind the acclaimed Two Sisters Vineyards—the estate reflects a deep passion for craftsmanship, beauty, and the unique character of Niagara’s wine country. Located at 2080 Niagara Stone Road on a purpose-built 36-acre property, Stone Eagle is designed for guests who seek modern luxury rooted in authenticity and artistry.

The winery’s architectural identity blends the geometric sophistication of Art Deco with the charm and timeless craftsmanship of Old World European design. The result is a striking yet inviting space that feels intentionally curated, thoughtful in every detail, and reflective of the sisters’ commitment to excellence. Stone Eagle takes its name from two hand-carved stone eagles sculpted in the Italian Dolomites over four years—symbols of strength, precision, and elegance that underscore the ethos of the estate.

At the core of Stone Eagle is a focused portfolio of low-intervention, vegan wines crafted from sustainably grown fruit. Under the leadership of Winemaker Adam Pearce and Estate Sommelier Magister Dieter Unruh, each wine is expressed with purity, balance, and a sense of place. Pearce’s meticulous approach allows the region’s character to shine naturally, while Unruh’s expertise ensures each tasting is delivered with depth, sophistication, and a thoughtful connection to the guest experience. Together, they shape tastings that emphasize the harmony between food and wine, inviting guests to explore each bottle through curated culinary pairings.

This culinary vision comes to life at The Nest at Stone Eagle, an intimate restaurant offering globally inspired dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner, The Nest encourages guests to enjoy beautifully crafted meals at a relaxed pace. Signatures such as Hamachi Crudo with Yuzu Kosho, Stone Eagle Signature Risotto with Braised Lamb Shoulder, and BC Wild Miso Black Cod showcase the estate’s philosophy that food and wine are best experienced together, each elevating the other.

Throughout the estate, every space has been designed to create meaningful, memorable moments. Seven private tasting rooms offer intimate, sommelier-led experiences, while the tasting bar and covered outdoor terrace provide elegant settings to enjoy wine against panoramic vineyard views. For celebrations, gatherings, and milestone events, the estate features a soaring, light-filled ballroom as well as The Pluma Room, a refined space ideal for smaller groups or pre-event receptions. Each venue carries the same attention to detail, ensuring that every event is delivered with grace, intention, and impeccable service.

Stone Eagle’s dedication to excellence extends to its environmental practices. The vineyards are Certified Sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario, reflecting a long-term commitment to ecological stewardship, responsible farming, and respect for both land and community. From strategic canopy management to the exclusive use of plant-based fining agents, sustainability is woven into every aspect of viticulture and production.
