LOEWE Fall Winter 2024 Women’s runway show staged at Château de Vincennes in Paris, is a study on provenance and whether it is relevant today. An outsider’s view, looking in, set against the backdrop of American painter Albert York’s (1928–2009) small yet intense paintings. The tropes of class and wealth turned on their head, through LOEWE’s distinctive lens: with bluntness and abstraction. Handcrafted mosaics on jewellery and dresses; wooden carvings that turn into coat collars; a profusion of caviar beading on ready-to-wear, biker boots, and Squeeze bags.
