Michael Kors brought the language of modern architecture to life for Spring/Summer 2027, transforming The Museum of Modern Art’s Sculpture Garden in New York into the setting for a collection shaped by clean lines, sculptural forms and an enduring sense of modernity. Inspired by the people and personalities he encounters at museums, galleries and openings, the collection imagines a gathering of artists, creatives and city dwellers, each bringing their own interpretation of modern style.
The collection found its visual rhythm through a mix of graphic and artistic references. Crisp stripes and gingham brought a sense of structure, while painterly florals introduced a softer, more expressive touch. Unexpected colour combinations added another layer of energy, with vibrant shades of grass, sunflower, coral and wave blue standing out against the clean architectural backdrop of the Sculpture Garden.
Practicality also played a role in the season’s wardrobe. Cotton and wool were blended into seasonless pieces designed to move easily between changing temperatures, reinforcing Kors’ vision of clothing that can remain relevant beyond a single season.
Accessories continued the architectural theme. Sculptural bags and footwear echoed the collection’s curved and geometric forms, while mid-century-inspired jewellery and oversized eyewear added a distinctive finishing touch. Together, the pieces created a wardrobe that felt polished yet expressive, with the confidence of modern design without being confined to a single aesthetic.
