To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, Chopard presents its most complex chiming timepiece to date: the new L.U.C Grand Strike. Entirely developed in-house, this masterpiece unites grande sonnerie, petite sonnerie and minute repeater functions with the Maison’s patented monobloc sapphire crystal gongs, producing a uniquely pure and powerful chime known as the Sound of Eternity. When you hear its resonance, you are listening to the very heartbeat of Haute Horlogerie at Chopard Manufacture.
Crafted from 18-carat ethical white gold, the 43 mm timepiece showcases its astonishing 686-component calibre L.U.C 08.03-L through a dial-less design that puts haute horlogerie front and center. At 10 o’clock, polished steel hammers announce its chiming prowess, while a COSC-certified 60-second tourbillon adds visual rhythm and chronometric precision. The watch also holds double certification from both the Poinçon de Genève and COSC, making it one of today’s most comprehensively rated grande sonneries.

The result of more than 11,000 hours of research and development, the L.U.C Grand Strike incorporates 10 patents, including five created specifically for this model—ranging from security enhancements to new energy-efficient mechanisms that optimize the chime. With two independent barrels, the movement delivers 12 hours of grande sonnerie performance and a 70-hour timekeeping reserve, an exceptional feat for a watch of this complexity.

Its sapphire gongs—machined together with the crystal as a single piece—transmit sound with unmatched clarity, producing a distinctive C♯–F natural chord crafted for harmony and resonance. Combined with traditional German silver bridges, refined case lines, and solid-gold hands and markers, the watch represents perfect synergy between innovation and heritage.

A culmination of decades of advancement in chiming mechanisms—from the pioneering L.U.C Strike One (2006) to the award-winning L.U.C Full Strike (2016)—the L.U.C Grand Strike stands as a rare, resounding tribute to sound, precision and time itself. Fleeting yet eternal, its chime marks a new pinnacle in Chopard’s legacy of acoustic mastery.
