Dior Addict Era: A Fantasy of Scent and Shine

When I walked into the preview in New York, it felt as if the air had been lightly glazed with sugar—luminous, sweet, and just a touch decadent. This is the new Dior Addict universe: a place where gloss meets scent, where lip oils converse with fragrances, and where pleasure is not frivolous but beautifully crafted.

Dior Addict is not a single product. It is a sensorial universe built around the idea of Glow—a language spoken through texture, colour, radiance, and scent. On one end is the iconic Lip Glow Oil, translucent, hydrating, and pH-reactive; on the other are the three Glow fragrances—Rosy Glow, Peachy Glow, and Purple Glow—each blending fruits and flowers into something playful yet unmistakably Dior.

In 2026, these two worlds finally meet, their textures and emotions feeding into each other like a duet.

And I was lucky enough to hear this story from Peter Philips himself—the Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup—while standing in that sugar-lit room.

Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil: A Sweet, Confident Shine

Philips told something I still remember clearly: “Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil is instantly appealing, girly and gorgeous. Its signature translucent shine is recognizable among all others, like an irresistible gourmand treat in luscious flashy candy colors.”

The original Lip Glow Oil, offered in seven shades, feels weightless yet luminous. Testing them one by one, I could see how the pH-activated technology subtly adjusts to each person, creating a “your lips but better” tone—one of the reasons it became a global phenomenon.

Then came the technical magic: the challenge of suspending sparkles in oil. Normally, pigments sink. It was almost impossible, but Dior found a way to keep both micro-pearls and larger glitter particles floating, catching the light as the lips move. It’s this innovation that gives 077 Rose Candy its soft, sugared glow and turns Cupcake into the delightful, party-ready shade with oversized holographic sparkles.

The new Sparkly finish is all iridescent shimmer—like crushed candy reflecting light—while the Glaze finish enters a different universe entirely. Rich, juicy, syrup-like colour that feels almost edible.

From soft pinks to intense berry tones, the Glaze lineup is saturated and cinematic. My personal favourite is Black Cherry, a deep reddish brown that pairs effortlessly with this season’s burgundy and cocoa tones in fashion. It also complements Purple Glow, the lip oil’s new fragrance companion, forming a naturally aligned scent-and-colour pairing. Of all the combinations I tried that day, this one was the most irresistible.

Philips described Lip Glow Oil as a finish you apply, “You don’t need a mirror—it gives you effortless colorful plump lips with one stroke. That is why it has such trans-generational appeal—women of all ages, not just the youngest, absolutely love it.” After seeing it in action, I understood exactly what he meant.

Dior Addict Perfumes: Gives “Sweet” a New Intelligence

If the lip oils express Glow visually, Dior’s Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian extends that radiance into the air. Instead of treating sweetness as something girlish or naïve, he reframes it through the lens of Dior’s heritage flowers.

Once Kurkdjian knew he was creating for the Dior Addict fragrance realm, he immediately thought of English words like “pulp”, “juicy” and “yummy” that everyone understands. “I designed these three scents for the young generation, responding to their pronounced taste for uncomplicated, ‘sexy’ gourmand facets.”

He begins with three emblematic blossoms—Damask rose, jasmine, and iris—but looks deeper, searching for the hidden fruit within each one.

In Rosy Glow, lychee brightens the rose until it feels like pink fruit pulp. In Peachy Glow, jasmine slips into ripe peach, soft as velvet. In Purple Glow, elegant iris leans toward the tart pop of raspberry, turning the whole composition into a vibrant violet haze.

Kurkdjian calls this idea “flower pulp sensation”—sweet, but never frivolous; playful, yet unmistakably refined. These scents don’t announce themselves loudly. Instead, they radiate, like a soft light warming the air around you.

As he explained: “you could say that the point of Dior Addict perfumes and Lip Glow Oil is this idea of creating “’a beautiful effect’”.It’s a beautiful description, and the clearest way to understand why these perfumes and the Lip Glow Oils feel like natural siblings: one shines on the lips, the other glows through the atmosphere, and both quietly make the day better.

A New Mood for a New Generation

Leaving the venue, I still had Black Cherry gleaming on my hand, and Peachy Glow lingering softly in the air. That moment made Dior Addict’s message unmistakably clear: it isn’t simply about beauty. It’s about feeling good—quickly, instinctively, and with a little sparkle.

Sugary, shiny, baroque yet modern, Dior Addict is not just a collection. It’s a mood, a tiny rebellion of pleasure, a way of saying: you deserve to glow.
