Dior Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2026–2027: Where Couture Meets Sculpture

by Iris

For the Dior Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2026–2027 collection, Jonathan Anderson draws inspiration from American sculptor Lynda Benglis, exploring the shared language of sculpture and couture. Just as Benglis transforms flat materials into expressive three-dimensional forms, Anderson shapes fabric through intricate hand-plissé, knotting and draping, creating silhouettes that come alive with movement and dimension.

Benglis’s long-standing connection with Ahmedabad, India, inspires vibrant floral embroideries and beaded embellishments reminiscent of her celebrated Peacock series. Anderson also pays tribute to India’s rich textile heritage by incorporating antique 18th-century chintz and indiennes into the Petit Dîner and Mini Lady Dior bags, blending history with exceptional craftsmanship.

The collection further contrasts the lush colours of Ahmedabad with the crystalline landscape of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Benglis has a home and studio. The result is a refined dialogue between art, nature and couture—showcasing Dior’s vision of fashion as sculptural, timeless and exquisitely crafted.
