Originally commissioned by Catherine de’ Medici and later redesigned under Louis XIV, the Jardins de Tuileries has always been a stage for seeing and being seen. That spirit continues in the garden today. A walk in the park becomes a procession; fleeting glances and chance encounters take place against a backdrop of statues, fountains and carefully-patterned parterres. The show space of Dior Autumn Winter 2026 mirrored this dynamic. An imitation park was constructed within the Tuileries itself, blurring the boundaries between the real and the unreal. Artificial water lilies were placed on the surface of the iconic Bassin Octogonal and floral prints on garments echoed the real flowers in the park beyond. The collection considers the enduring theatre of Parisian life and the timeless role of fashion within it.
