From Forest to Runway: Louis Vuitton Women’s Fall-Winter 2026

by Iris

In the courtyard of the Louvre Museum, Nicolas Ghesquière presented the Fall–Winter 2026 women’s collection for Louis Vuitton—a vision inspired by nature as the ultimate designer. Mountains, forests, and open landscapes shape the collection’s narrative, where garments respond instinctively to wind, rain, and sun. Sculptural silhouettes and protective layers echo clothing historically created for survival and freedom, reimagined as a contemporary “super nature” wardrobe for modern life.

Flora and fauna appear throughout the collection in subtle yet striking ways. Reinterpreted animalier motifs run through canvas and denim, while leather flowers and organic details suggest both decoration and protection. The result feels like a modern folklore—traditional dress codes transformed for a digital-age context.

Innovation meets craftsmanship through what the house calls “hyper-craft.” Techniques such as 3D printing and resin casting create buttons resembling minerals and heels shaped like antlers, while specially treated leather mimics the grain of wood. The fusion of technology and artisanal savoir-faire reflects the house’s evolving approach to nature-inspired design.

Travel remains central to the story. The iconic Louis Vuitton Noé bag returns in its original 1932 proportions, alongside jewelry inspired by Man Ray and detailed with the nail-head studs of a Louis Vuitton trunk.

Set within a futuristic landscape designed by Jeremy Hindle, the show transformed the historic courtyard into a shifting pastoral scene—blurring nature, imagination, and technology in a modern allegory of exploration.
