Tiffany & Co. has officially reopened its newly reimagined store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre, marking a striking return to the Canadian luxury scene. Spanning over 8,000 square feet, this redesigned retail destination introduces an elevated concept showcasing Tiffany’s renowned high jewellery and diamond creations.
The store’s breathtaking façade, crafted by the renowned architecture firm SANAA, features 32,000 glass bricks framed in polished aluminum. This innovative design, inspired by the idea of “diamonds in the rough,” pays homage to Tiffany’s expertise in transforming raw diamonds into timeless masterpieces.
Step inside, and visitors are greeted by a custom-made light sculpture by architect Hugh Dutton. Inspired by the iconic maple leaf, this luminous installation sets the stage for Tiffany’s signature collections, including HardWear by Tiffany, T by Tiffany, Lock by Tiffany, and Knot by Tiffany. These designs are beautifully displayed in woven metal cases adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay and supported by nickel and rose gold legs.
Throughout the store, arches reminiscent of Toronto’s historic architecture guide visitors through distinct spaces that seamlessly blend luxury with artistry. The experience is further enhanced by works from celebrated artists, including Damien Hirst’s Tiffany Incredible, Vik Muniz’s Repro: Musée d’Orsay (Rochefort’s Escape, after Manet), and Sho Shibuya’s Sunrise From a Small Window series, accented with Tiffany’s iconic blue.
A highlight of the store is the Tiffany High Jewelry space and the Jean Schlumberger gallery, dedicated to showcasing the jeweller’s most extraordinary creations. Overhead, a bespoke Apollo chandelier by Aggio illuminates the area, suspended from a champagne gold-leaf ceiling—a nod to the celestial inspiration behind many of Schlumberger’s iconic designs.
